Teak Oil

DESCRIPTION

A special product designed for easy and quick care for hard and oily woods used in exterior environments, such as teak, mahogany, sapele, iroko and rosewood.

 APPLICATION SURFACES

It is safely used on all exterior surfaces that come in contact with water such as shipboards, swimming pool borders and ladders and garden furniture.

APPLICATION METHOD

The surface of application must be cleaned off of any dirt, old paint or varnish residue prior to application. After cleaning, the surface should be lightly sanded and any dust must be wiped away with a damp cloth. Wood that contain high amount of natural oil such as teak and iroko must be de-oiled. For this reason, the surface should be cleaned with YALAZ Cellulosic Thinner prior to sanding. After the cleaning, wait for the thinner on the surface to dry. Prior to application, the product is stirred well in its container. In order to achieve a homogenous look, the product should be applied evenly and in the direction of the grains of the wood using a brush, allowing the wood to be impregnated with oil. The excessive oil on the surface should be cleaned with a clean cloth 15-20 minutes later. Make sure the coat applied is not thick. If the surface will be exposed to harsh weather conditions, the product may be applied in 2 coats. The second coat is applied 24 hours later, after the surface is sanded. 

Dilution / Mixing Ratio

Apply without diluting in case of using a brush or a roller, and dilute with Yalaz Synthetic Thinner by 10% in case of using a sprayer.

Paintable (Coverable) Area

1 liter of product covers a surface of 10-12 m2 in a single coat depending on the method of application and the surface.

Drying Time

(20°C)

Touch Dry: 4 hours. 

Recoat: 24 hours.         

Storage

It must be kept and stored in a cool and dry environment with no direct sunlight. It can be stored in its original packaging for minimum 1 year. Keep the lid closed after using.
