Protective Cover
Protective Cover
It is a double-component, reaction drying, epoxy resin based epoxy topcoat paint cured with polyamide hardener. It adheres excellently on sheet metal, galvanized, aluminum, wooden and mineral surfaces.
PROPERTIES
It is used on any wooden, metal and mineral surfaces exposed to water, sea water, chemicals and abrasion. It is safely used in general industry, by machine manufacturers, for metal protection and in marine applications.
Application surfaces must be cleaned off of any particles that can decrease adherence. Metal surfaces must be sandblasted at minimum Sa2 ½ level and primed with Epoxy Anticorrosive Primer in maximum 6 hours. After the primer is completely dry (4-6 hours later), the final coat is applied. After the topcoat paint is mixed with the hardener at the specified ratio, wait for 10-15 minutes prior to application for pre-reaction. The surface temperature should be minimum 10°C. Do not apply the product at around dew point temperature.
Component A: 4 parts
Component B: 1 part
Epoxy Thinner: 10-15%
1 kg of product paints a surface of 8-9 m2 depending on the surface (paint + hardener / a dry film thickness of 50 microns).
Touch Dry: 4-6 hours
Recoat: 18 hours
Mechanical Resistance: 96 hours
It must be kept and stored in a cool and dry environment with no direct sunlight. It can be stored in its original packaging for minimum 1 year. Keep the lid closed after using. Protect from frost.
16 kg of Component A + 4 kg of Component B: a Set of 20 Kg
3 kg of Component A + 0,75 kg of Component B: a Set of 3.75 Kg
The components must be mixed well. Since the paint cannot be used after the mixture’s useful life expires, mixtures should be prepared in small amounts according to the mixing ratio in order not to reduce the product by wastage. Any surplus paint mixed with hardener should not be poured into the paint not mixed with hardener.
